Mark Richards

Founder and CEO

Mark Richards is the founder and CEO of Homeboy. Prior to founding Homeboy, Mark was a founder at Austin-based LugIron Software where he helped build technologies that did deep analysis of social networks. Before founding LugIron, Mark took an adventurous 8-year journey into the world of Australian venture capital. Prior to his time in VC, he founded Metreos, an IP telephony company that was acquired by Cisco in 2006 and database management startup DBMX that was acquired by IBM/Tivoli in 1997. Mark’s inspiration to start Homeboy came after his house had been robbed for the third time. Mark is a below average triathlete, currently resides in Australia with his wife and four kids and commutes monthly to Austin, TX.
